Wing "T" Buck Sweep Series
Submitted By: Rick Allison

Formations    The words "Near" & "Far" informs the HB were to line up. He will either be on the Near side or the Far side of the Tight End "Y" and the Wing Back "Z". The words "Right" & "Left" tell "Y" & "Z" which side of the formation to line up. The Wide Receiver "X" will alway line up oppisite of "Y" unless the unbalanced call in made.Play Calling ProceedureHole & Back NumbersHole numbers are at the top of the arrows and the running back numbers are in the circles.Running Back #'s 1 = Quarterback2 = Wing Back or "X" 3 = Fullback "0" hole dead over the Center.4 = HalfbackY = Tight EndX = Wide ReceiverHole Numbers Odd Numbers on the left side of the Center.Even Numbers on the right side of the Center.
Near Left 32 Trap ·QB- Always open toward the HB. Must stay on the mid-line. Follow out all fakes. On bootleg fake, keep rear elbow high bent at the waste. ·OL Splits- C-G 1', G-T 2", T-TE 3' ·OL Trap Rule-1st defender on the LOS and outside the POA is the defender that will be trapped. ·WR Blocking Rule- Any running play inside of same side OG (2 &1-7 holes in left formations) use down & across rule and technique. Any running play going to your side of the OG (4, 6 & 8 holes in left formations) use run-off or stalk block technique. ·TE Blocking Rule- Same as WR but opposite side. ·Wing Blocking Rule- When outside the box at the snap of the ball use the same rule as receivers. Near Left 46 Trap ·QB- Always open toward the HB. Must stay on the mid-line. Take the time to make GREAT fakes. The FB fake is the most important, QB should put the ball all the way in the pocket, when removing the ball shield it against his body leaving the hand closest to LOS in the FB pocket as he goes by. On bootleg fake, keep rear elbow high & slightly bent at the waste. Near Left Waggle Left ·QB-Must stay on the mid-line. Take the time to make GREAT fakes. Most young QB's have a tendency to leave the mid-line as they are faking to the HB, the result is, not enough depth and a poor fake. Take what the defense gives you. ·QB Rules- If no one is between the QB and the FB say "Go" and run the ball. Check the diagram. ·FB- He has to come off the ball fast so not to get in the way of the pulling OG, eyes should be locked on play side OG so that he can see where his hole is. He must get into his pattern. NO ACCUSES! ·HB- The better the fake, the easier the block. Target is the inside number of the DE or OLBer. If he's going to get beat, force the defender to run outside and around, never underneath. ·Wing Back- Seal the outside so the QB can get to the corner. This will give the run option to the QB. ·NOTE: This play can be run from may formations with and without motion. It works great with a double wing formation also.
