The Zone Offense exists to allow running backs to do exactly that…run. Great against any defense that can possibly be drawn up, the zone offense is highly effective. The Denver Broncos destroy defenses with Portis, Gary, and Davis in Mike Shanahan’s zone scheme. Some guy by the name of John Elway (Hall of Fame), and newcomer Jake Plummer have put up some good numbers in the zone shceme at quarterback. Balanced Offense that can be run at any level.

LaDanian Tomlinson, TCU Heisman Candidate and one of the NFL’s premier future stars, was a 2,000 yard rusher in college and is a product of Dennis Franchione’s (Texas A&M Aggies) zone rushing game and zone option scheme.

The Zone Offense is effective. Bootleg passes, and play action passes off of the zone and zone option are very nice. This can be a 60% run 40% run offense with the right play calling. Technical to coach…Simple and easy to learn.
